Last week I wrote about snowboarding, urban rails, and about a rail we might hit. This week I am pumped to say we did it and that I have a quick video of the night.
Urban Snowboard Night @ Pontiac Central High School
It ended up to be a great night. This particular rail is one of the safest urban rails I have hit, and it would be fun to jam for hours. If you have never hit an urban rail you should find one like this to test out.
The landing was a little sketchy because it was super short. If you didn’t stop in time you would end up dropping four feet onto the tennis court. The approach was straight on, the rail was super mellow, and Banshee Bungee was the perfect fit for the job.
Enjoy the short video. I used every clip I had, and I have a good feeling there will be another video of this night coming out soon. Keep your eyes peeled.
Until our next Urban Shred Night, tell me how you get out and Board the Midwest All day, Everyday?
In 2010 a new snowboarding manufacture has hit the streets. Marhar Snowboards opened their doors earlier this year and they are ready to get their name out there. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Josh and Nate, who are the owners of Marhar, at the The BOB Rail Jam that went down in Grand Rapids, MI. Through new ideas and creative thinking, these boys have came up with a way to make snowboards green, innovative, and exciting. Take a look at the interview below to get a better understanding of what Marhar has to offer.
I also have to say that after roaming the streets of the snowboarding, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing industries, Nate and Josh put off a great first impression, and I am pumped to see how these guys will push the sport of snowboarding and the innovation of boards.
